CURRENT RESEARCH STUDIES
Aspirin-associated Stomach Ulcers
If you have been taking 325 mg of aspirin at least five days a week for a minimum of three months and have a history of heart or blood vessel events such as, heart attack, stroke, peripheral arterial disease, or angina you may be eligible to participate in this clinical research study. This study is evaluating the effectiveness and safety of taking an investigational medication to see if it can help reduce stomach ulcers in subjects who are at risk of developing aspirin-associated ulcers.
Study duration is approximately 6 months and involves about 6 visits to our study center and 2 telephone contacts. Subjects are paid for their time and travel.
Basic Entry Qualifications:
- * Male or Female, 55 and older
- * Taking at least 325mg of aspirin daily and have been for at least three months
- * History of heart/blood vessel risk factors including:
- - Heart Attack
- - Stroke
- - Peripheral Vascular Disease
Or
* 18-54 years of age (male or female) and have had a history of documented stomach or intestinal ulcer within the past five years.
