Diabetic - Metformin alone and or with a Sulfonylurea  (Grant #29290)

Are you a Type 2 Diabetic currently taking Metformin alone or with a sulfonylurea such as Glipizide, Glyburide or Glimepride? This study is researching the effectiveness and safety of taking Metformin along with another FDA approved medication or placebo to acheive better glycemic control.

All study related care and study medication will be provided at no charge to those who qualify and a small compensation for time and travel expenses will be provided.

This study is approximately 1 year long and would require approximately 19 visits.

Entry Qualifications:

1. *  Be at least 18 years of age with a diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes
2. *  Taking Metformin alone or with a sulfonylurea
